Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a complex healing system that has been practiced in China for over 4000 years. When we are unwell it is a reflection of our physical, mental or spiritual body being in disharmony. The purpose of acupuncture is to treat the disharmonies by re-balancing the body’s natural energy flow, known in China as Qi (Chi), ensuring  Yin and Yang energies are in harmony. This is achieved by inserting very fine needles into specific points on the body, connecting with the natural Qi system. The body is then offered the ability to  re-balance itself, returning to a state of harmony and good health.

Electro-Acupuncture

Electro-Acupuncture is used for painful conditions. A mild electrical pulse is sent through needles in the skin using a machine similar to a TENS machine. The constant stimulation of an acupuncture point sends feedback to the brain, triggering the release of endorphins into body. Endorphins are the body's natural pain killers.

Testimonials

I was diagnosed by my doctor with ME or Post Viral Syndrome, my health had been poor for around 2 years. My energy levels were really low and capacity to do daily things was awful.

After several treatments I felt an increase in my energy levels. After completing the advised course I felt my life was getting back in control.

I have treatments every couple of weeks now to keep me 'balanced'.

It's wonderful, I feel like I have my old self back.

We had been trying for a baby for years, with numerous unsuccessful rounds of IVF. I read acupuncture could help the process, so I contacted Yvette. She talked me through what to expect from using acupuncture, which helped tremendously.

My final round of IVF started, they only got 4 eggs and only 2 fertilized, I was so upset. Yvette told me it would only take one egg to implant and to try to think positively.

Now I have a healthy little boy, we're so happy.

Cupping

Cupping is a treatment used to compliment acupuncture. It is the use of glass cups which are heated and placed over a needled acupuncture point point or a painful place  on the body. A vacuum is created by the heated cup over the skin, this stimulates the point and increases the flow of Qi to the area, increasing the potential for healing.

Moxibustion

Moxibustion is the burning of specific Chinese herbs over a needled point or over an acupuncture point. This warms the area, increasing the flow of Qi, helping to balance the flow of Qi in the body.

I've had IBS for as long as I can remember, when it was bad I was doubled up in agony.

I decided to give acupuncture a go, I must admit I was skeptical.

It was OK initially, but I put that down to being a bit more careful with my diet, I was given some specific recommendations of what to avoid eating. I stopped going for a while, and got worse again. I was embarrassed when I went back, but Yvette was great.

I completed the course the second time round. I still have to be a bit careful with certain things, but I can honestly say I feel so much better. I still go for treatments every month or so.

Acupressure

Sometimes the use of needles is not appropriate, use of pressure to stimulate Qi can be used instead. This can be applied by the fingers, or using a rounded metal probe, sometimes the point can be stimulated using a mild electrical pulse from a machine similar to a TENS machine.

I was recommended going for acupuncture to help with stress and trying to conceive. I met Yvette and she immediately put me at ease. She is easy to talk to and has a calm presence. I explained we had been trying for a 2nd child for nearly 2 years and in that time I had 2 early miscarriages, a failed IUI and failed IVF also. I knew that Yvette specialised in fertility and felt that she could really help me. I am now 12 weeks pregnant and conceived naturally after seeing Yvette for my 1st session of acupuncture in January 2017. I continued weekly initially and now have fortnightly treatments. I highly recommend Yvette, she is professional but also kind and easy to talk to.

Thank you!

Several years ago I was diagnosed with cancer in my right ovary. Before going through chemo and radiotherapy, I had IVF and two embryos were frozen. My ovaries were removed. I was given the OK 18 months ago, so I decided to have one embryo transfer, which failed.

I came to see Yvette, telling her she was my last hope of having a baby of my own, with my final frozen embryo. This was a bit unfair I know.

Earlier this year I had a healthy little girl. I cannot thank Yvette enough.
